Whitelisting

Before sending funds to an AUD virtual account, the source account — the bank account your customer is sending from — must be whitelisted. Deposits arriving from a non-whitelisted source account will be returned to the sender.

Keep in mind that even with the source account whitelisted, a deposit can still be held or reviewed by the sending bank — more on this below.

Delayed or returned deposits

Some Australian banks hold first-time deposits, delay transfers for review, or return payments sent to accounts associated with digital assets. This has been observed across major banks, including ANZ, NAB, and CBA. Outcomes vary by customer, account history, transaction size, and the bank's internal review process.

A delayed or returned transfer usually reflects bank-side payment controls or payment-matching checks, not a permanent block. If a transfer doesn't arrive right away, it may still be under review. Retry later, use the same bank account consistently, or contact your bank to confirm whether the payment has been held or declined.
