Sandbox Test Documents

Stables uses Sumsub to process identity verification. When testing KYC in the sandbox, use the test document templates below to simulate different verification outcomes.

These are test documents only. Never submit them, or any other synthetic documents, in the Production environment.

How to test

  1. Confirm you're using a sandbox API key (sti_test_...) against https://api.sandbox.stables.money.
  2. Reference one of the test documents below as the id_documents or proof-of-address payload when creating or updating a customer.
  3. Observe the resulting verification_levels[].status and verification_levels[].sub_status on the customer record. The API returns lowercase statuses (approved, requires_action, rejected); the VERIFICATION_* names below are the forms sent in kyc_link.updated.status_transitioned webhooks.

Documents that auto-approve

Use these to simulate a successful VERIFICATION_APPROVED outcome:

Documents that trigger resubmission

Use these to simulate a VERIFICATION_REQUIRES_ACTION outcome, where the applicant must correct and resubmit:

DocumentSides
California Driver's LicenseFront & back
Spain ID CardFront & back
Germany Proof of Address (rejected variant)Single page

Documents that trigger final rejection

Use these to simulate a terminal VERIFICATION_REJECTED outcome, with no resubmission allowed:

USA Electricity Bill (proof of address)Single page

Notes

  • Sumsub's verification engine recognizes documents in a wide range of languages and character sets, so equivalent test templates for other supported countries behave the same way.
  • Since business customers are not automatically approved in sandbox (see Setup a sandbox environment), these templates are most useful for exercising individual (KYC) verification-state transitions end-to-end.
  • The downloadable sample image files themselves are hosted by Sumsub — see Sumsub's verification document templates page.
